What´s in my Bag? (2016)

I´m pretty sure this is my second or maybe even third ´What´s in my bag´post on here, but as I love reading them I thought I´d do a little updated one. Although my bag is definitely the same as the previous post a few things have changed.

(Left to right)
My iPhone (Yes I still have an iPhone 4S!). Carex hand sanitiser (I get through one a month). My 2016 diary - this one is from Ryman. Portable iPhone charger and cable - I bought both of these from Primark last year and they have changed my life. Tissues - this is a random brand I think I found them in an old handbag, but I always carry tissues, especially in the colder months. My Oyster - I used to have a really nice card carrier, but I got really drunk a few months ago and lost it, along with my ID and oyster! My bag of neccessities - I explain what is in here below... My card purse - this is basically full of every loyalty card that ever existed! A snack - Of course, I´m always hungry and have been loving snacked on these honey seeds (they taste better than they sound).

As well as all of my basic everyday things that I carry around with me I carry a little pouch with things I use for emergencies, make up tops etc.
I carry them around in a dark green make up bag which I picked up from Mango last month..

(Left to right)
Sleek Blush in Rose Gold - I carry this around for the mirror, not for topping up my blusher on the go. Revlon Super Natural - One of my all time favourite nude lip glosses. A wet wipe - nobody wants sticky hands. Soap and Glory Hand Food - I always have hand cream in my bag and this one smells great. Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Chic - Another nude lip gloss... just in case. Soothing eye drops for itchy eyes - I use these mostly in the summer because I get the worst hayfever, but recently I went to my friends house and had such itchy eyes from playing with her cat so now I always carry a bottle in case of emergency. Travalo - So much easier than carrying a full bottle of perfume. Carmex - for obvious reasons. Chapstick - again, obvious reasons. One mento - I do usually always have mints or chewing gum, on this day I was obviously running low. A bobble/hairgrip - I actually have never needed these, but you never know. Two eyeliners - I don´t know why I need two nude lipglosses and two lipbalms either, I just do. Cold and flu tablets - it´s winter...

Phew. Such a small bag, so much stuff.

Favourite Drugstore Primers

Primers, the wonderful little base that helps your make up apply much smoother as well as helping it last that extra bit longer. I love them. And it's hard not to when their are so many to choose from these days, most brands have their own and each one does something different. Today I'm going to be talking about a few of my favourites on the high street.

Firstly and probably my ultimate favourite is the Loreal Lumi Magique Primer, this is a lightweight primer designed to give your skin a subtle glow and lift underneath your foundation. It has a hint of gold shimmer to it which looks beautiful in the sunlight and really makes your skin look glowy and super healthy.

Secondly is the Maybelline Baby Skin, for me this is the controversial one, you either love it or you hate it. I personally quite like it, it's silicone based so I'd recommend only using a small amount and only in your t-zone. This primer does a great job at holding your make up on, however things can get a little slippy in the heat and a patient hand will be required to apply your foundation over this one. As for making your skin look poreless, I can't really say I agree, but as far as drugstore primers go, it's worth a try.

Lastly the Revlon Photoready Primer, another lightweight product with nice packaging, claims to make you look 'photoready'. One thing I did notice about this product is that it dries up fairly quickly and the pump makes it difficult to get out a lot of the product. As for keeping your make up in place it worked, not for a huge amount of time but it did the job. I didn't notice any differences in how my skin looked after applying this, but it's a nice, light base for your make up.

So that's that, what's your favourite primer?

The Lip Product Addict Tag!

1. Favourite balm/treatment
Blistex Intensive Moisturiser, it's my go to product when things get kinda bad, you can really feel it working, it has SPF and it's super affordable too!

2. Best eye-catching red?
It's the perfect go-to red for any occasion, it also has a great lasting power for a drugstore lipstick.

3. Best luxury and best drugstore?
Eek, best luxury is difficult, I love MAC lipsticks and also the Clinique Long Last Lipsticks are great!
As for drugstore, I love anything by Revlon and as for single lipstick it would have to be the Rimmel Moisture Renew lipstick in Vintage Pink.

4. Best MAC lipstick?
Syrup. Definitely.

5. The most dissapointing?
I'm not sure if I've touched on this in a post yet, but the Maybelline, Colour Sensational Popsticks. They resemble something you used to get free in a magazine of a child. Awful products.

6. Liner - yes or no?
I love liner on other people (if they wear it right), I just haven't personally experimented enough with it to make it work for me.

7. Best gloss?
I can't choose a specific colour, but my favourite line of glosses is the Revlon Super Lustrous Lip glosses, the formula, the colours, the price, they're great!

8. Something extra?
I can't do a lip product post without mentioning my favourite products of all, the Revlon Lip Butters, I've raved about them for a long time now, but they're still great. A lot of bigger brands keep bringing out similar products but I can't find any that compare. The colour range, the pigmentation and the formula are brilliant! My favourite being Berry Smoothie.

Revlon Cream Blush

Revlon Cream Blush - 150 Charmed Enchantement

There's not a lot of products from Revlon I haven't tried, my local Boots is fairly small so when I saw this little beauty peeking out of the bottom shelf of the Revlon counter it was new to me, I was intrigued.
I often find myself scouring the Revlon section looking for new things and this was something I hadn't seen before so I instantly popped it into my basket.

Firstly, the packaging is lovely, a nice sized round pot full of the most beautiful coloured blush.
The texture is slightly watery, it blends beautifully leaving your cheeks looking perfectly flushed. The colour is a gorgeous every day spring/summer shade. The lasting power is nothing brilliant but it lasts a good few hours, luckily the small packaging makes it perfect for carrying around with you.
For the price this is a definite winner for me, my only issue is that their was only one shade available in my Boots, I'll be on the hunt for more.

Have you tried any of Revlon's Cream Blushes?

Another Beauty Haul

Hello lovelies!
Welcome back, excuse my absence lately, I've been super busy, will be posting some updates on my personal blog soon!

Anywho... in my absence I've definitely been making up for it in terms of shopping... and lots of it. As my skin has been a bit of a lost cause lately, I decided to try to completely revamp my skincare routine and pick up a few bits to help out in that department as well as a few make up bits and body products.
I picked up the Bioderma in my local pharmacy, they stock all sizes but I opted for a small one just to test it and see what I thought before splashing out on a full size.
The Hydraluron is a repurchase, everything else is new.

5 Most Worn Lipsticks

When it comes to make up, I definitely favour lipstick.
I own more than enough to last me a lifetime. I like to mix my lip colour up daily, depending on my mood. However I do feel myself reaching for five lipsticks in particular more than the rest.
Here they are...

The first one being the Revlon Lip Butter in 050 Berry Smoothie. This product is so easy to wear as are all of the lip butters as you can use them as just a sheer tinted lip balm and really build them up to be a quite pigmented glossy lip. This colour in particular often finds itself being reached for due to the gorgeous colour, it really does look great on.

Secondly one that was on my wish list for such a long time but was always sold out is Revlon 420 Blushed.  This is such a perfect nude colour, this type of brown nude really suits my pale skin, and of course the Revlon Lipstick line is just great in general for pigmentation, moisture and they are long lasting.

Probably my most worn out of all five is Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick 180 Vintage Pink, this has earned quite a few mentions on my blog over time and for good reason. The shade is perfect. It's perfect for everyday wear, it's kind of a purple nude colour that looks great on! The formula is so nice on the lips and I just can't fault this lipstick.

Again with Rimmel, another great neutral, everyday colour is Not an Illusion, I've had this for quite a long time now and I use it a lot! The colour is gorgeous and glides on to the lips , but I love the lip crayon packaging and the vanilla scent too!

Lastly is yet another Revlon one, this is the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balmstain - 001Honey. I've had this a long time and again I find myself reaching for it a lot. It's a very easy to wear natural pink, this range have a nice peppermint kinda feel to the lips which I like, and the colour is great for everyday natural make up.

(Left to right, Berry Smoothie, Blushed, Vintage Pink, Not an Illusion, Honey)

As much as I love bright lips I think I'm definitely a natural lip girl for everyday where, I wear all of these more than any others in my collection and I would highly recommend all of them.

Let me know your favourite lip sticks?
I'm always on the hunt for more.

Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer

Although I have very dry skin and my make up tends to stay put a decent amount of time throughout the day, I find I am always on the hunt for a good primer.
I've tried a few primers over time and nothing has ever really 'wowed' me.
I picked up this Revlon primer on a whim around 6 months ago, I love Revlon, they are probably one of my favourite drugstore make up brands and they very rarely disappoint.

So what did I think of this primer?
It's nice. Just nice. I like to use it as a base for my make up as I do find my make up applies better after using it. As for making my make up last I'd say it is okay. It's nothing life changing but it gets the job done.
One thing that bugged me about this product is that whenever I use it I get dry bits of product on my face which is really annoying! I also find you have to use quite a few pumps for the whole face to be fully primed.

Overall I'd say it's a nice product, I wouldn't repurchase again but if you're just looking for a nice base that feels light on the skin and will make your make up last a little longer then this is for you.

December Favourites

Hello everybody!
It's that time of month again, favourites time!
I haven't really tried too many new products this month, a couple are old and a couple are new as I haven't spent too much money on myself in December. But I have really been liking a few things lately.

Passion Fruit Body Butter
I was in The Body Shop a few weeks ago and I picked up the Cranberry body butter and I loved it! Then... I walked past a few days ago and spotted the passionately one!! I didn't see this the first time round and once I gave it a smell it had to be mine!

Natural Collection Blush - Peach Melba
I only recently bought this and I'm glad I did! It's a very natural looking shade and very easy to wear, I've found myself reaching for this a lot lately.

Bourjois Blush - 34 Golden Rose
I've had this for a while now but recently I've been using it a lot more! There's something very festive and pretty about it, it's the perfect pretty pink shade with a hint of shimmer. Perfect.

Revlon Blushed Lipstick and Revlon Super Natural Lipgloss
I'm including these together because they're probably my most worn lip combo of the month. I'm not a huge nude lips wearer, but I have been loving these two lately!

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
Another oldie that I've recently started using again a lot more. It's great for foundation and I also like to use it for blush, they're so easy to use.

E45
A very old product that has recently became a staple for my handbag, I literally don't know where I have been without this my whole adult life. I recently had some skin issues and purchased this on a whim, not only did it majority help my skin but it's been my best friend ever since. Got a burn? E45. Got dry skin? E45. Fell over? E45.
I love it.

And that's all for December, not too many but all things I've loved, what have you been loving?

Boots Make up Haul

Hello everybody!
Hope you all had the best Christmas and got spoilt rotten!
Today I'm back with a mini Boots make up haul, I've done so much shopping the past week the muscles in my arm actually ached! I tried to buy mostly clothes as its fair to say I have enough make up to last me a lift time. However I did pick up a few things and thought I'd share them with you.
I got a Revlon eyeshadow quad in 510 Precocious I'm loving the purple-cranberry type eyeshadow shades a lot lately and I'm excited to start experimenting with this.
I picked up a Natural Collection blush in Peach Melba, Natural Collection is a brand I got most of my make up from when I was a teenager and since I've actually taken a real interest in make up I haven't really been back to try out more. But since hearing Pixiwoo talk about this blush I thought I'd give it a try.

I also got this beautiful Revlon lipstick in 450 Gentlemen Prefer Pink I firstly fell in love with the name then noticed the colour, how could I not buy it.
I also picked up a Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in 400 Big Bang.

I then found this Rimmel Eyeshadow stick in 06 Rich Russet, it's my first of the Rimmel eyeshadow sticks and I intend to try out more.
Lastly I picked up the most beautiful lip gloss (to accompany my new lipstick of course) in 235 Pink Pop!

If you'd like reviews of any of these products, let me know.
And if you have tried any of these let me know your thoughts.
Have a great day :)

Revlon Lipstick Purchases

When it comes to high street make up, I am a huge Revlon fan. their eyeshadows, foundations, lipglosses and their lipsticks are dreamy.
As I said in my previous post, I popped into Superdrug over the weekend and these two beauties fell into my basket.

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how pretty they are...

Blushed is a colour that has been on my 'want list' for quite a while now, and everytime I go to a Revlon counter they either don't have it or it is sold out. It is literally the most perfect nude lipstick that I own. It doesn't make me look dead and it suits my pale skin nicely. It also feel great on and lasts quite a while. Also paired with Revlon Lipgloss in Super Natural it looks gorgeous.

Berry Couture is just beautiful. It's the perfect winter staple and I don't have anything like it in my collection. Firstly, let me just say, that this is probably the longest lasting lipstick I own. I constantly top up my lip colour on the go due to talking so much, eating and drinking, but everytime I got my mirror out for a top up, this colour was still perfectly in tact! Win!

Superdrug Haul

It's difficult living in London and being faced with a Boots or a Superdrug with every corner that you turn! You pop in for a 'look' or to buy 'one thing' and come out with unnecessary purchases such as a nude lipgloss and more new lipsticks. This is a regular occurrence for me and as I did this on Sunday I thought I'd show you what I picked up when I just popped in for a look.
Firstly, I did need a new Shampoo and I am running low on moisturiser so I kinda needed to pick those up. I opted for this OIay Essentials Day Cream with SPF 15 as it was half price. I hadn't tried this before and I'm always on the hunt for a new holy grail moisturiser! For Shampoo I spotted the Fat Hair "0" Calories range, I see this every time I'm shopping in Superdrug and I always eye it up due to the vibrant packaging but I've never given it a chance, and as it was half price I picked up the conditioner too!

Then on to things I definitely don't need but wanted. Everything was 3 for 2 on Revlon so I kinda had to! Right?!
I picked up two lipsticks in Berry Couture and Blushed! Then a lipgloss in Super Natural

Reviews on everything coming soon :)

November Favourites!

Sleek Blusher - Pixie Pink
The rosier the cheeks the better this time of year, I'm a huge fan of minimal make up with a flush of colour on the cheeks and a berry lip. Perfect

Laura Mercier Hand Cream - Almond and Coconut Milk
The nicest scented hand cream ever. Without a doubt. And perfect in the cold weather.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - Crush
This has been on my lips pretty much through the length of Autumn.

Necklace - Peacocks
I've been wearing a lot of black lately, so statement necklaces have been my 'go to' to jazz up my outfits.

Revlon Lip Butter - Berry Smoothie
The perfect everyday lip. Looks even better on pale skin.

Yankee Candles - Cinnamon Stick
Of course, nothing says Christmas quite like a cinnamon scented candle.

Victoria's Secret Body Spray - Red Plum & Fresia
I've worn this so much the past month, fruity, girly and kinda wintery at the same time.

Tresemme Oil Elixir
My hairs new best friend.

Scandaleyes Thick and Thin Liner - Black Noir
My eyes' new best friend.

 Blistex Intensive Moisturizer
Dry lips be gone. This is getting me through the colder months with ease.

OPI - Casino Royale
This kind of colour has been on my nails constantly, along with Essie - Foot Loose. Love.

Revlon | Lip Butters

If you haven't guessed it already, I have a slight addiction with lipsticks.
I'm aware the Revlon Lip Butters have been around for a long time and I've been using them for a long time, but today I wanted to do a quick post on some of my favourites of the collection.

Berry Smoothie is probably my most used right now, it's the perfect everyday lip colour, it's pretty and it's buildable so you can have a slight wash of colour or you can make them a slightly deeper berry colour.
Candy Apple is the most gorgeous red lipstick. It's a real red so the colour is beautiful but the formula of the lip butters makes it so easy to wear on a day to day basis or a night out.
Juicy Papaya was my 'go to' throughout the summer, on it's own or over an orange lipstick and Sweet Tart is a very pretty pink shade that can also be perfect for everyday or night!

I will most definitely be adding to the collection as the formula is a dream to work with and the colour range is incredible, there really is something for everyone.

Revlon | Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains

My name is Jodie and I have a slight addiction to buying lip crayons.
I don't know what it is that draws me to them, of course they are easy to apply and great on the go, but it's more than that, I like the packaging, the colouring in technique, the colour selections, I just like them. Over the past few months I've tried out several different lip crayons and the I have to say that the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains are definitley my most worn.

The colour selection is perfect, the Orange was my staple for summer, I wore it almost every day, the red is perfect for a night out, the pink is not too pink, making it great for everyday wear and work and the berry one is my current favourite for Autumn/Winter.

The pigmentation on these is incredible, and they last quite a while, even once faded they leave a nice stain on your lips.
I would advice using a lip balm underneath this product or a gloss over the top as I find them to be quite drying alone. But other than that, these are definitley some of my favourite lip products ever.

All that said I thought I'd show you a picture of my everyday make up the past couple of weeks, if I fancy a change I will usually change up my lip colour and my blush but this has been my most worn make up look and I'm sure it will be for the rest of the colder months.

Autumn Make up Haul

I have to say Autumn I'd definitley my favourite time of year when it comes to make up. I love darker lips and sparkly eye make up! So now here in England we are now officially in Autumn I have been searching the drugstore for some new make up (of course) and may have picked up a few things!

"Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo - 35 - On and On Bronze"
I've heard loads about this product but I always forgot to pick it up whenever I was shopping, however I remembered it a few days ago and picked it up and I love it! It's perfect for this time of year and will look great on any eye colour!

"Revlon Colorstay - 505 - Decadent"
On the subject of eyes this Revlon eyeshadow quad is perfect for Autumn and Winter! They are all wearable shades and the gold colour will look great for Christmas time!

"Sleek blush - 926 - Rose Gold"
I'm a huge Sleek fan so I don't know why I was so late on the bandwagon with this one! It's beautiful and the gold doesn't make you look like a glittery goddess, it just adds a perfect glow to your face and the rose colour really warms up your complexion! I love this product!

"Rimmel Colour Rush - 700 - Not an Illusion
If you read this blog, it's no secret I am a huge fan of lip crayons! They're so easy to apply and super hydrating! The new Rimmel ones are no different! This shade is a dark red/brown colour which I tend to wear a lot in the colder months as they suit my pale skin nicely!

"Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss - 225 - Berry Allure"
Berry lips are so in right now and I love them! They look great on any skin tone! I picked up this lip gloss a few days ago and can't get enough of it! Once the gloss fades it still leaves a gorgeous berry colour on your lips, definitley a winner for me!

"NYC Ultra Last Lipstick - 417 - Flirty"
This lipstick is what I think of when I think of Autumn, it's a really dark pink/plum colour that suits pale skin and rosy cheeks perfectly! I wear so many colours like this, this time of year and I love it!

"Calvin Klein Delicious Luxury Creme Lipstick - 31127 - Cosmopolitan"
Think red lipstick but more subtle and easier to wear. This is brilliant for lazy days when you don't want to wear much but you still want to look 'done'. It's red but not too red and great again on paler skin.
