August Favourites

It's that time of the month again, time to share with you all a few bits and bobs that I have been reaching for throughout August. I haven't really tried too many new things this month just because I haven't been spending a huge amount due to moving house. I've been more so rediscovering older products in my stash than buying new ones.

17 Shimmer Brick Bronzer
Resembling the oh so famous Bobbi Brown one, I have had this product for a very long time (it might not even be okay to use, oops) but this is a product that never fails me in the summer, I find myself reaching for it time after time again. It's shimmery but not glittery, it gives you that perfect summer bronzed glow that I love.

Maybelline Brow Drama
I'm almost certain that I've mentioned this on here before; but for those days when you really don't fancy plastering on a lot of make up this is perfect. It gives your eyebrows more shape and a bit of colour without the burden of having to spend a huge amount of time on them.

Elizabeth Arden Intensive Daily Moisturiser
As I've said time and time again, I love discovering new moisturisers, this one did not disappoint. I got this miniature in a set last Christmas and only recently rediscovered it in my stash. It's quite lightweight on my skin and absorbs quite quickly, it doesn't feel sticky and leaves my skin feeling hydrated and fresh. It also had SPF which is an added bonus.

MAC Syrup
Another oldie but goody. Probably becoming one of my most used lipsticks. It's just beautiful.

Balance Me, Wonder Eye Cream
Quite an old one yet again, but this stuff is great, especially for those mornings when you haven't had quite as much sleep as you'd like. It's quite cooling and soothing and eye creams obviously prevent wrinkles, so there's that.

And that's about it, not too exciting but there great products.
What have you been loving?
Happy September.

Revlon Cream Blush

Revlon Cream Blush - 150 Charmed Enchantement

There's not a lot of products from Revlon I haven't tried, my local Boots is fairly small so when I saw this little beauty peeking out of the bottom shelf of the Revlon counter it was new to me, I was intrigued.
I often find myself scouring the Revlon section looking for new things and this was something I hadn't seen before so I instantly popped it into my basket.

Firstly, the packaging is lovely, a nice sized round pot full of the most beautiful coloured blush.
The texture is slightly watery, it blends beautifully leaving your cheeks looking perfectly flushed. The colour is a gorgeous every day spring/summer shade. The lasting power is nothing brilliant but it lasts a good few hours, luckily the small packaging makes it perfect for carrying around with you.
For the price this is a definite winner for me, my only issue is that their was only one shade available in my Boots, I'll be on the hunt for more.

Have you tried any of Revlon's Cream Blushes?

Soap and Glory Skincare

One thing I am constantly on the hunt for is good skincare... I feel like no matter how much water I drink or how much I moisturise my skin it's still super dry... so whilst in Boots the other day I spotted these little beauties.
Soap and Glory Scrubatomic and 365 For Daily Youth, a face scrub and a moisturiser.

Having never tried Soap and Glory skincare but loving their body products I thought I'd give them a go.

The Scrub...
I am in love with this scrub. It's abrasive, smells good and leaves your skin feeling fresh and soft. What more could you want? I tend to get a lot of dryness around my nose which is difficult to budge with just a moisturiser, after using this scrub for around a week my skin is nowhere near as dry, and looks much fresher.

The Moisturiser...
A very light feeling moisturiser, smells like fresh peaches and in my opinion is perfect for this time of year and great for a boost. It absorbs nicely, leaves my skin feeling fresh and hydrated and I just love it. (My boyfriend also likes this!)

Both great products, combined they are making my skin a much happier place.
I actually look forward to using these daily!

Birthday Beauty Haul

So it was my birthday on Saturday, so of course I had to pick up a few things!
Alongside clothing, I got a few beauty treats from Boots, Topshop and Accessorize.
I will be posting reviews on a few of these things, so keep your eyes peeled :)

Have a lovely day!

Nivea Tinted Moisturiser

Currently half price at Boots

I love tinted moisturiser. I think it's a genius invention. For in the summer when make up is just too much on the skin or just on days when you don't want a whole lot of coverage and stuff on your face. Tinted moisturiser is great.

I picked up this Nivea one last summer and I have recently rediscovered it.
I love Nivea products, I've used their creams and lotions for years and I've always liked them. When I was hunting for a cheap tinted moisturiser on a summers day last year because wearing foundation was unbearable I didn't really know much about this one but I thought I'd give it a go.

The first thing you notice is the very distinct Nivea smell, I personally love it. The product also has SPF in it which is obviously a bonus. The product is self applies beautifully and actually has a nice amount of coverage. The colour is quite dark on me but with blending is looks natural but glowy.

I'd definitely recommend this if you're looking for an affordable tinted moisturiser, let me know if you have tried this?

Natural Collection Lipsticks

After recently trying (and loving) the Natural Collection Peach Melba blush, I thought I'd give a couple of there other products a chance, seeing as most of the Natural Collection range is £1.99 I thought I might as well give the brand a chance, if I don't like it, it's not like I splashed out.
I opted to try two of their lipsticks (of course), I picked up Cranberry and Crimson, both really lovely shades.
The first thing I noticed was how bad the packaging was, I know I shouldn't have expected more for £1.99 but still...
However, when trying these out a couple of times I came to discover they are not actually bad products. The pigmentation is great! (Especially on Crimson), they are easy to build and are quite long lasting. The formula can be quite drying on the lips so I'd recommend a good lip balm underneath or lip gloss on top.
Crimson is a very vibrant red, I'd say more of an evening red than a day time red, but the colour is very beautiful.
Cranberry is one of my favourite kinds of lip colours, very natural looking but it still looks like you've made an effort. The colour isn't as pigmented as Crimson but it's buildable and I think it would suit a lot of skin tones.
I think that for the price these are definitely worth looking in to, they don't have a huge selection of colours but they are all wearable colours and the colour pay off is pretty good.
Have you tried these lipsticks?

Hydraluron review

So firstly let me just state that I have put off buying this for the longest time, I struggle to justify £25 on 'another cream', so you can imagine my excitement when I spotted this on the shelves of Boots for £16(ish)! (A third off!) I have super dry skin and in the winter my skin gets even worse than normal.
Lately my skin has been giving me he'll, it's been even drier than normal and I think I had an allergic reaction to something because I got a rash on my face and way more spots than usual.

So I decided to pop to Boots and buy a few skincare bits to help rescue my skin and try to bring it back to life a bit (post coming soon on the other products).

I often drift towards Hydraluron when I'm in Boots, but this time I felt like my skin was so bad I just had to give in to the hype and get it, that's when I saw it for a third off and alas, it was mine.

Buy it here!

This is a serum, you apply it before you put on your moisturizer and it helps moisturise your skin even more and helps prevent wrinkles by firming your skin (it has a bunch of benefits but you can read about them online as I'm not very good at explaining).
I've been using this now for around 2 weeks and I have noticed a huge difference in my skin. Like I said I changed up a lot of my regular skin care products so they are all working together, but I do notice a difference when applying this.

Once applied it feels quite sticky on your skin, but once a moisturiser is added your skin feels instantly smoother and fresher. I find my make up applies smoother and overall my skin is feeling much healthier.

I also find it very refreshing on 'no make up' days, if I just need to feel fresher I just put this And moisturiser on and my skin feels lovely.

I'm sure this will benefit my skin even more in the long run and I plan to continue using it.

Have you tried Hydraluron yet? What are your thoughts?
